Port Moody is a city located on Burrard Inlet in the Vancouver, Coast & Mountains region of Metro Vancouver. It is the furthest point east that the inlet extends as it flows in from the Salish Sea beyond the city of Vancouver.
The tidal waters in the area offer ample opportunities to observe wildlife, including sea lions, seals, ducks, herons, and many other birds. Rocky Point Park, the area surrounding the inlet, offers a scenic walking and biking trail that winds through forests, crosses the water on a narrow boardwalk, and leads to a sandy swimming beach.
At the right time of year, visitors can even spot spawning salmon along the trail. A wooden pier with hanging flower baskets and seating provides a perfect spot to watch pleasure boats launching and kayakers setting out on excursions.
